Important

This is a collection of posts I've added to my blog about serious subject matter that I think should, and hope will be, taken seriously.  These are about issues that are important to all us.  While much of what I write in my blog is silly, or light, these topics are not, so I wanted to take a moment and set them apart from the balance of my writing.  If you read nothing else, I hope you'll take a bit of time to read these.

Thank you!

27 Dec 2011: Five Days of War - In part a movie review, in part drawing attention to a part of the world  about which most Americans know very little.

05 Dec 2011: A New Word for Prostitute: Victim - I really admire this brave young woman who spoke up about her having been forced to work as a sex slave - right here in Columbus, OH.

18 Nov 2011: INSI Debate - Surviving the Story - This safety debate was headed by journalists who go to the dangerous parts of the world to bring us the news on which we have come to rely every day.  My hope for this post is that it does justice to the real journalists who truly do have to worry about their own safety.

05 Nov 2011: Remember - I visited the Holocaust Museum on a recent trip to DC.  We should never forget.

25 Oct 2011: What is Human Trafficking? - Human trafficking in Ohio - Yes, it does exist

24 Oct 2011: Kiva - This is about micro financing as a means by which we can help pull people out of poverty.
